BRADLEY Wiggins has pulled out of the Tour of Britain which climaxes in Guildford on Sunday.
Wiggins will not be coming to Guildford after pulling out of the Tour of Britain.
The Olympic gold medalist said a stomach bug had prevented him continuing in the race, which will end with a dramatic sprint up Guildford High Street's cobbles.
The Team Sky champion told BBC Sport: "I'm sorry I can't continue and would like to thank all those fans, of all ages, for the support,
"I've loved the last six days. It's been a great experience but this bug sadly means I'll now miss the climax."
Mark Cavendish, who suffered a stage five defeat on Thursday, is still expected to be racing in Sunday's stage eight of the Tour which will pass twice through Guildford.
Guildford Borough Council said it was expecting a large turnout of people to line the streets for the sporting event. See my earlier stories for details of the the Tour's stage eight race times, road closures and parking restrictions.
