COUNCILLORS have observed a minute's silence for the two victims of the G Live tragedy.

The Mayor's chaplain said a prayer before a Guildford Borough Council meeting following the deaths of Fisherman's Friends band members Paul McMullen and Trevor Grills at the Guildford venue on February 9.

He prayed for the two men who died and all of their families and friends at this very sad time.

Borough mayor, Cllr Jennifer Jordan, opened last Thursday's council meeting with a minute's silence and then expressed her condolences on behalf of the Council.

Speaking on behalf of all councillors the Leader of the Council, Cllr Stephen Mansbridge, also read out a cross-party message of condolence.

He said: "I would like to express, on behalf of the other party leaders and all elected councillors, our heartfelt sympathy to the families, friends and many fans of Paul McMullen and Trevor Grills.

"We offer our sincere condolences following this incident and we shall hold them and their families in our thoughts and prayers."
