A drop-in session is being held at Guildford Borough Council's Millmead offices on the 14th December to give the public a chance to speak to planning officers regarding the planned masterplan of the long-term future of the town centre.

The council has already drawn up a draft masterplan following views expressed by many different types of local residents and organisations such as community groups and businesses. Some of the issues that have been expressed include access to the town centre and areas that need specific improvements.

The public consultation is now getting ready to enter its final stage, with the draft masterplan already available online. Copies will also be available from the Guildford Library.

"The plan will help shape the future of the area for everyone living, working, shopping or visiting Guildford," said Cllr Tony Rooth, Leader of Guildford Borough Council.

"We would encourage everyone to have their say on how the town centre will look and feel over the next 20 years."

The drop-in session will be run between 4pm and 9pm where members of the public will be offered the opportunity to ask questions to planning officers in an informal environment.
