Guildford College unveils modernisation plans

GUILDFORD College has lodged plans to refurbish a block of buildings as part of a modernisation programme.

Guildford College has embarked on a multi-million pound modernisation programme.

The construction and technology buildings will be refurbished as part of the proposals.
The college has applied to Guildford Borough Council for approval as part of a multi-million pound refurbishment at the Stoke Road campus.
The proposals include replacing the old and inefficient technology and consrtuction buildings and unsightly courtyard with a remodelled development.
It will include new cladding panels, a raised roof for the motor vehicle workshop, green roofs, new windows and canopied corridors and courtyard.
The courtyard, main entrance route, service yard and perimeter fencing areas surrounding the buildings will be relandscaped.
The revamp follows is part of a renewal programme at the college and follows the refurbishment of five classrooms.
The college's design statement said: "The college recognises that its estate is in need of improvement and rationalisation to enhance the student experience both within and outside the classroom.
"Its ambition is to create a exciting dynamic environments which attract students and which enhance learning outcomes."
