Othello will mark the 40th anniversary of the Guildford Opera Company
5th November: Rosie Vanier at The Star
Don't like fireworks? Then maybe you'd like to spend your evening in the comfy Star Inn and watch Rosie Vanier in the Live & Loud Bar. Breaking off from her band Rosie and the Goldbug in 2009 has seen her go solo since.

8th November: Jimmy Carr: Laughter Therapy at G Live
Jimmy Carr takes his ninth standup tour to Guildford. Expect an evening of quick-fire one-liners and risque humour. If you're easily offended you may want to think carefully about going but otherwise you're sure to be entertained by a veteran of the comedy circuit.

8th November to 12th November: Verdi's Othello at the Electric Theatre
The Guildford Opera presents an opera with four acts and sung in English. This has been described as one of Verdi's masterpieces late in his career for mixing psychological drama and a tragic love story.
7:30pm on the 8th, 9th and 11th; 6:30pm on the 12th. Tickets are £16 on Tuesday and £18 for all other performances. Call the box office on 01483 444789 for ticket availability.
9th November to 12th November: Henry V at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre
The world premiere of a new take on William Shakespeare's classic play Henry V by theatre group Propeller. It's a story that takes audiences through the corridors of Westminster to the fields of France. Catch it if you can.
7:30pm on the 9th and 10th; 8pm on the 11th and 12th; 2:30pm on the 10th and 12th. Tickets are from £15. Call 01483 440000 for ticket availability.
10th November: Foreign Beggars at the Boileroom
Mixing rap, grime and dustep, Foreign Beggars are riding a wave of critical acclaim and rising popularity. One of their most recent collaborations was with well-known producer Skrillex. Support on the evening comes from Subsource.
