Saturday evening (5th Nov) saw the sky being lit up with fireworks all across Guildford, including a spectacular Firework Fiesta at Stoke Park that saw a large crowd.

Infact, the view that you had on the park meant that you could see fireworks from all parts of the town on Bonfire Night.

Thousands of people - ranging from school kids to families - endured the slightly chilly conditions to witness a ten minute display of fireworks compered by 96.4 Eagle Radio's Peter Gordon.

There was also an accompanying funfair and torchbearers had walked from the town centre to the park following an address by the Mayor, Terence Patrick. He also lit the beacon onsite.

The event was held to raise money for the Guildford Lions, who organise the yearly event. Organisers were hoping that the total raised was well in the thousands.

We have a couple of galleries up on Guildford People from the evening for you to check out. The first is of the funfair related activities. The second is of the fireworks display.

Did you go on Saturday? Was it well organised? Would you go again next year? Let us know with a comment. Also, if you have any additional photos please feel free to upload them!
