A BAR worker has been praised for coming to the aid of a reveller who fell 30ft from a rooftop in Guildford.

Miguel Cavaller was finishing his shift at Wetherspoons in Bridge Street when he noticed the man trying to climb onto the roof of the Casino nightclub.

As he tried to alert staff for assistance the man fell 30ft and lay unconscious.

Mr Cavaller, of Spain, scaled an eight foot high spiked security fence to provide first aid before emergency services arrived.

His quick thinking actions were praised by Surrey Police at the latest Command Commendation Ceremony on February 28.

A police spokesperson said: "Undoubtedly his prompt actions and immediate first aid helped save the man's life."
