BUSINESS rates for the year ahead will be among topics for discussion at a special breakfast briefing this month.

Guildford's traders and businesses are invited to the event on January 29 2013 which takes place from 7.30am to 9.30am in the Council offices at Millmead.

The event, hosted by Guildford Borough Council and Surrey Chambers of Commerce, will include LG Futures - who will deliver a presentation about the Business Rates Retention scheme.

The meeting will also include developments in rating for 2013 and the borough's Economic Strategy.

Cllr Stephen Mansbridge, Leader of the Council says: "This briefing offers businesses the opportunity to discuss important issues affecting the local economy, put forward their views on Council services and provides the chance to network.

The meeting will also include the Council Tax consultation with our business ratepayers."

Representatives from businesses, business support organisations, Guildford Business Forum and Surrey Chambers of Commerce members are all welcome to attend this free event.

A working breakfast will be served from 7.30am and the briefing will start at 8am and close at 9.30am.
