Guildford's North Street to be sold for development

GUILDFORD'S North Street could be sold to a private company in a bid to re-develop the town centre site.

Guildford Borough Council is seeking a development partner to regenerate the area and attract more shoppers and visitors.

A new 200,000 square foot department store and shops are planned for the 6.3 acre site.

The council has released a brochure which invites prospective development partners to register their interest by October 12.

The authority has also launched a website www.northstreetsite.co.uk outlining its plans for the town centre shopping area.
