A PROVIDER of French language lessons to primary school children in Guildford is desperately seeking a fluent speaker following the retirement of a long-running teacher.

La Jolie Ronde has been looking for a replacement French speaker for several months to teach after-school lessons in the area.

Now it is worried it will have to cancel language classes at two local schools if nobody steps forward soon.

Mala Henry, of La Jolie Ronde, said: "We've got a teacher whose retiring and she has got two very successful classes running in Guildford at two local schools. One of the classes has been running for 19 years."

She added: "We have been looking for several months now for a French speaker to take over classes teaching children in the Guildford area without success.

"It is getting to the point now that we are absolutely desperate and will have no alternative but to cancel these classes should a replacement not be found. If this does happen the children will be devastated."

The French speaker is required to teach Monday and Wednesday evenings. No experience is required as full training will be given.

Anyone who is interested can call 01949 839715 and ask for Christine or Jenny.
