The first suspect, who was driving the BMW, is described as white, in his 20s, with short brown hair and was wearing a dark shirt and trousers.
The second suspect is described as black, in his 20s, tall, skinny with short hair and was wearing a white t-shirt.
The third and fourth suspects are described as white, in their 20s, with short hair. Police believe there was also a woman in the car but she did not get out of the vehicle.
Detective Constable Andy Greaves said: "The two men had been out in Guildford town and were on their way home and trying to find a taxi when they were set upon by these four men in the BMW.
