Surrey Police are still waiting to speak to the victim of an assault of a 39-year-old male who was walking back from Guilfest with his family.

Peter Hart had been assaulted on Kings Road. He had gestured to a vehicle to stop so that he and his family could cross the road safely but, as it stopped, the driver got of the car and assaulted him.

He remains at St. George's Hospital in Tooting and, although his condition is no longer critical, he is still seriously ill.

Two men have already been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have been released on bail. They'll return to Guildford Police Station on the 4th September.

Police are still appealing for witnesses. Anyone who can provide information has been urged to call 101 and to quote Operation Vermillion. If you want to contribute information anonymously then the charity Crimestoppers can be contacted free of charge on 0800 555 111.
