SURREY SEARCH AND RESCUE CELEBRATES DONATION FROM
THE GALAXY HOT CHOCOLATE FUND

Local charity, Surrey Search and Rescue, is celebrating after receiving a £300 donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund.

Part of the UK's Lowland Rescue service, Surrey Search and Rescue, helps the emergency services to find missing people and to provide support during major incidents or weather emergencies.

Run wholly by volunteers, the team and their dogs are on call 24 hours a day to respond quickly to any requests for help. The team is trained in rapid searching techniques and navigation together with first aid skills to help casualties when they are found.

Seamus Kearns, chairman of Surrey Search and Rescue, says: "Surrey is England's most wooded county with more than 77% of the County being rural land. This means that our dog team are an invaluable resource to us.

"With this donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund we can now purchase some vital equipment for our dog team and look to expand the team by providing training for some new dogs and their owners."

GALAXY Hot Chocolate is looking to help small, local community groups and charities across the UK and Ireland by donating cash awards to support warm hearted people and projects.
