ACOUSTIC music fans can see a singer-songwriter who has been championed by BBC Radio London perform at a bar in Guildford this month (October, 2013).
D’lys will be playing acoustic original and cover tracks at Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, on Saturday, October 26 from 8pm.
D’lys said: “I’m really looking forward to performing at the bar and I hope lots of people come along and enjoy my music. I will be playing tracks from my album ‘Find me an Angel’ on the night.
“The album is inspired by a variety of musicians including Lionel Ritchie, Kings of Leon and Julio Iglesias.”
The singer-songwriter had planned to record her album earlier in the year with renowned producer Robin Barter but spent Valentine’s Day having leg surgery, which left her unable to walk unaided for seven months.
Robin modified his studio allowing D’lys to access and record vocals for the new album without having to stand or walk.
D’lys will be performing tracks from the album around the UK when she supports Leo the Lion from multi-platinum selling act, The Streets, and singer Joss Stone’s new band, Yes Sir Boss, on tour this month.
Sara Burks, Co-owner of Bar des Arts, said: “We can’t wait for D’lys to perform at the bar. Her voice needs little accompaniment and she will be backed by only a guitar on the night.
“We’re looking forward to hearing her tracks. Our audience is in for a real treat.”
Entry to the evening is free. Booking is advisable and can be done by calling the bar on 01483 453227.
Bar des Arts is a café by day and a cocktail bar by night. A range of wine, beers, cocktails and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with meat or cheese platters. The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.
