Arriba, arriba – celebrate Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’

GUILDFORD residents that aren’t afraid of things that go bump in the night are this month (October, 2012) invited to celebrate the ‘Day of the Dead’ at a bar in the town.

Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, will be hosting a Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31 from 8pm.

Sara Burks, Co-owner of the bar, said: “We are really looking forward to our Halloween Party. We hope lots of people come along in their best costume and celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead with us.

“Entry to the party will cost £5 per person and includes a delicious spooky-themed cocktail. There will also be a selection of food available on the menu during the evening.

“We have been told that the bar is haunted so we are hoping for lots of ghostly happenings to occur on the night. Come along if you dare.”

Bar des Arts is a café by day and a wine and cocktail bar by night. A range of wine, beers, cocktails and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with tapas.

The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.
