TWO PROFESSIONAL poets will be performing at a bar in Guildford during its poetry night next month (November, 2013).
Chrys Salt and John Hudson, who host regular poetry nights at The Bakehouse in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, will be at Bar des Arts on Tuesday, November 19 from 7.30pm.
Sara Burks, Co-owner of Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming the very talented Chrys and John to the bar to read their works during our poetry night.
“The pair regularly run successful poetry events at The Bakehouse in Gatehouse of Fleet and will be stopping off at the bar during their trip to Guildford to read some of their own works.”
Chrys is an award-winning poet, author and playwright who has performed her work across the UK as well as in America, France and Germany. Her poetry has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4 and has appeared in a variety of anthologies and magazines.

John is the Director of Publishing at The Bakehouse. He was a founding member of the Solway Poets performance group and has performed his poetry at a variety of festivals and theatres across the UK, America and France.
Sara added: “Chrys and John are superbly talented poets and performers and it is an honour to have them on the Bar des Arts stage. We hope they will be able to give advice to any budding poets who come along on the night too.”
