WHISKY connoisseurs from Guildford are next month (April, 2013) invited to sample a 12-year-old whisky and create their own during a tasting and blending evening at a bar in the town.
The Chivas Art of Blending event will take place at Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, on Wednesday, April 3 from 8pm.
Sara Burks, Co-owner of Bar des Arts, said: "There will be samples of the Chivas 12-year-old and Chivas 18-year-old whisky available for people to try throughout the evening and we are really looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the popular brand.
"People will also have the chance to get creative and blend their own whisky on the night. A Chivas Regal Ambassador will sample all of the blends and choose the winning creation. The winner will receive a bottle of Chivas 18-year-old.
"The whisky has matured for 18 years in oak casks and has its own distinct character and flavour."
The blended Scotch whisky is produced by the Chivas Brothers and was established in 1801. It is made in the oldest operating Highland distillery, Strathisla Distillery at Keith in Spedside, Scotland.
Sara added: "Tickets for the event cost £25 and include whisky tasting, creating your own blend to take home and Scottish inspired tasting food platters."
Booking is essential and can be done by calling the bar on 01483 453227.
Bar des Arts is a café by day and a wine and cocktail bar by night. A range of wine, beers, cocktails and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with tapas. The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.
