GUILDFORD folk are being asked to make a wish in aid of charity at a bar in the town from this month onwards (November, 2012).
Bar des Arts is asking people to pop into the bar and write their wishes on a cardboard star in return for a charitable donation to C.H.A.N.C.E (Children’s Health and Nutrition, Care and Education) for Nepal.
Sara Burks, Co-owner of Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, said: “We decided to place a Christmas wishing tree in the bar as we thought it would be a great way to raise money for charity.
“People are able to come into the bar and write their wishes on a card star. They can then be tied to the tree in return for a donation to C.H.A.N.C.E.
“We decided to raise money for C.H.A.N.C.E as it is committed to improving health, education and well-being for sick and under-privileged children in Nepal.”
Bar des Arts is a café by day and a wine and cocktail bar by night. A range of wine, beers, cocktails and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with tapas. The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.
Sara added: “People will be able to make wishes until Christmas Eve, December 24 and we will donate all of the money raised in January, 2013.
“We hope lots of people come along to the bar and help us to raise lots of money for C.H.A.N.C.E. We also hope that everyone’s wishes will come true.”
