Perform at Bar des Arts live lounge evening

GUILDFORD musicians are this month (January, 2013) being invited to showcase their talents at a free live lounge event at a bar in the town.

Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, will be hosting the event on Tuesday, January 22 from 7.30pm.

Izzie Edwards, Event Organiser at Bar des Arts, said: “We are looking for Guildford’s next big thing and we’re inviting musicians to come along to our Live Lounge event and impress us.

“The Lone Pepper Duo, who are extremely popular with our audience, will be hosting the evening and performing a selection of their contemporary hits.”

Izzie, who has recently taken over the booking of acts for the bar, performs professionally at gigs and events with her Motown band ‘Izzie Edwards and The Echoes’.

She will be looking for potential talent during the evening for future bookings at the bar.

Izzie added: “I’m hoping to find some new musicians at the Live Lounge night who may be interested in performing at the bar at future events. Why not come along and show us what you’ve got?

“We have a baby grand piano that is available for people to play as part of their act. Artists wishing to sign up to play or sing at the live lounge event should arrive early on the night to reserve a time slot and avoid disappointment.”

Bar des Arts is a café by day and a wine and cocktail bar by night. A range of wine, beers, cocktails and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with tapas.

The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.

The live lounge night takes place at Bar des Arts on Tuesday, January 22 from 7.30pm. Due to the popularity of the event it is advisable to book a table in advance.
