PEOPLE from Guildford are this month (September, 2012) invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at Bar des Arts in support of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
The bar will be serving tea, coffee and cake on Friday, September 28 from 9am until 12noon to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sara Burks, Co-owner of Bar des Arts, said: “Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning takes place nationwide and we wanted to give people in Guildford the chance to join in. It is an extremely worthy cause and we hope that lots of people will come along to help us support the cause.
“During the morning we will be selling tea, coffee and cake with all proceeds going to the charity.”
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event. Last year (2011), 51,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising a record £10million for the charity. This year Macmillan is hoping to raise even more money.
Charles Byrne, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Events at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are very grateful for the support from Bar des Arts. There are more than two million people in the UK living with cancer and the funds raised from the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will help support them.”
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event will take place at Bar des Arts on Friday, September 28 from 9am until 12noon.
