A Hidden Gem

Towards the top of the High street just above the Guild Hall lies a narrow alleyway by the name of Milkhouse Gate, hidden just out of sight is a little gem.  It''s not quite a wine bar, it's not quite a cafe, it is however 100% Guildford.

The Tudor Lounge is a odd mix of ancient and modern.  Uneven floors and wooden beams sit hand in hand with moving digital pictures on the walls and a modern, crisp clean bar.  It shouldn't work, it should be incongruous, but it isn't.  It does work and to be honest it's a lovely place to be.

There is a definite Tudor theme with a bust of Henry VIII greeting you as you head up the stairs.  Their breakfast speciality is Tudor eggs and King Henry's beef is a winner whatever time of day you go.

I found it by accident, if you haven't found it yet then I'd strongly recommend you go and give it a try.
