We visited the Jolly Farmer two days before Christmas at lunchtime. We hadn't booked and it was very busy, however the staff assured us that as soon as a table was free they would let us know and they did - we didn't have to worry about keeping our eyes open for a table. The tables are set out in little rooms/alcoves - we had two tables of two in an area of three tables and a Christmas tree, with a bowl of water for dogs underneath it. I had the roast turkey and the rest of the family had the burgers. The standard of food is more than pub grub, probably more gastro pub food! We also tried a side dish of bubble and squeak. The food was lovely and filling. The dog was made welcome by staff and customers alike. After eating we went for a walk on the common land behind the pub. The outside garden looked attractive and is probably packed in summer - no one out there while the snow was on the ground!!
