With snow disrupting much of the UK,

albeit not quite yet in Guildford, there is nothing better than being

prepared.

The Met Office has currently put the

area on 'yellow' on their weather warning chart for tomorrow (27th

November), which means to be prepared for any potential snowfall.

Some roads across the area have already

been gritted as early as last Wednesday (24th November) in

preparation for the cold weather as temperatures plummet towards

below freezing.

Drivers are currently being advised to

drive carefully to avoid any motoring accidents.

After the dramatic snowfall earlier

this year, the worst seen for decades, the local Council are keen to

avoid major disruption this time around.

One thing they'll be keen to avoid is

disruption to local bus services; in February the bus service came to

a standstill as it couldn't make its way through the thick snow-laden

roads.

Changes may also be made to the waste

collection days if the bad weather disrupts it. Any chances can be

found on the Your Guildford website by typing in your postcode and

checking the status of collections in your area.

The Council's Facebook and Twitter accounts will be updating throughout any period of bad weather so these are also worth bookmarking.

Residents can also find out about how

to make sure you're prepared for winter with a guide we published on

Guildford People a few weeks ago.

Are you prepared for winter? Are you

worried about any potential disruptions? Let us know with your

comments.
